This was a piece of saltless, Umbrian bread. The bread was toasted, drizzled with olive oil and a generous dusting of salt. The bread was then sliced and buried with grated fresh, summer truffle.
Totally agree... We had this in an Umbrian restaurant Orvieto, Umbria in summer 2011. When we came back for the same in 2012, unfortunately the restaurant was on summer leave... Next saturday I will try to re-create this dish, but I do not believe I can with the ingredients here in the Netherlands.
